An optical prescription expires after two years to coincide with the timeline recommended
for a biannual eye exam. Even if you have 20/20 vision, it is important to see an eye doctor
regularly to monitor the general health of your eyes. Certain vision issues can persist without
symptoms or pain, such as glaucoma or macular degeneration. An eye exam is more than just
getting an optical prescription to purchase glasses, it's about prioritizing the health of your
eyes.
